For a long time, Joe Maresca has been a close friend of mine. He has always looked out for me financially, socially and emotionally. Over the past 2 years I had gained in excess of 50 pounds. Joe says he still remembers the days when I was a lean and mean 199lb beast. For nearly 18 months Joe continued to tell me he was going to get me on a diet. I guess he was just too busy back then to get me on one sooner.
Finally, one day, Joe walked into my office and challenged me to lose the 50lbs that I had gained in the past 2 years. Joe said that if I wanted to continue to work for him I was going to need to lose 50 pounds. I knew he was only joking since we had been friends for over 20 years. However, I took his challenge very seriously. I told him that I will see your 50lbs and raise you another 10. He laughed and with his great smile accepted the challenge.
For the entire diet challenge I will write about the road to my weight loss goal. I am sure it will be a bumpy one so stay tuned for my daily posts.
